As many of my Facebook friends know, we had to put our most incredible English setter, Brodie, to sleep on October 9, 2025. A viciously fast cancer forced our hand. He wouild have been 10 in January, 2026.
As a friend in Maine, who has one of Brodie's littermate brothers said, Brodie was my "heart" dog. He truly lived his best life with Bridget and I at our place along the banks of the Miramichi River in New Brunswick. He pointed grouse, chased geese, investigated what was under every rock along our stretch of the river, and, as importantly to me as anything, shared many campfires with me.
He loved to just sit sometimes, watching over what I'm sure he considered his domain.
Please raise a glass to his memory. I have.
