Autumn in Vermont

Sure, some of it's about those calendar shots of the Green Mountains in blazing fall color, but it's also about a cool damp morning with the sounds and smell of splitting wood, Canada geese honking overhead.

  2. Thanks! Woodsplitting - like this blog - are labors of love for me.

  3. I don't know about a labor of love, I've been splitting black oar lately, it's a bear. My grandfather would say to me wood warms you three times, once when cutting, once in splitting and lastly in the stove, he thought of it as a gift.

I hope that you are well.

  4. Rick, that's a great old phrase, and quite true. I like that he thought of it as a gift very much.
New hip on 11/10/2011. Maybe I can go fishing next year and bird hunting next year, too!!!
